Michael Cooney, Esq. discussed the highlights of the New York State Non-Profit Revitalization Act. Mike is a Partner in the Washington office of Nixon Peabody LLP. As counsel to a wide range of charitable and other not-for-profit entities, and those who support them, Mike provides the not-for-profit corporate and tax-exempt context in which these organizations can drive mission and margin. He directs the firm's focus in higher education and exempt organizations.
Karen Bilowith discussed how a local not-for-profit organization is dealing with the new legislation. Karen has held the position of President and CEO of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region in Albany, New York since February 2009. She previously held leadership positions with the United Way of the Greater Capital Region, the National AIDS Fund, the American Red Cross and the Denver Zoological Foundation.
Anne Saile discussed the personal and business challenges of dealing with change within an organization.
